Bishop Weeks is Scheduled to Preach Sunday's Easter Service

After choking, pushing and kicking his soon-to-be ex-wife, Juanita Bynum, he apologized to her and his congregation for the angry rage he went on. It seems like his apologies worked because Bynum was merciful to him and asked the D.A. to not convict. Even though he wasn't convicted he was given 3 years probation and 200 hours of community service. Not only was Bynum receptive of his apologies it also looks like his congregation was too. According to AJC.com, Weeks will be back in the pulpit preaching Sunday's Easter Service.

We wonder what he's going to preach about... "The Importance of Forgiveness" would be a great subject. Whatever happens, if you do go, PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASEEEEE don't stir up that angry streak.

Mike Epps Turns Down a Job that Might Lead to a HUGE Reward

An Atlanta woman is trying to cast Comedian Mike Epps in one of the biggest roles that he may ever play, but according to her lawyer he has denied the job. If you think we're talking about "Resident Evil- the Resurrection" guess again!!!! He's turned down the opportunity to star in the melo-dramatic series of "Are You the Daddy- the Paternity Test Edition." That's right Mike Epps is REFUSING to take a paternity test to determine if he's the father of a child who was born in December of 2007. Because he refuses to cooperate the mother has hit him with a paternity suit.

We hope she's right about him being the babby's daddy because if she isn't... Mike Epps might name his next tour "I told you it ain't mine- I Love my Wife." Either way we will keep you posted on what the results are.

Lebron Receives Bad Reviews for His Vogue Cover

I bet LeBron James was thinking what NOW when he read the column by ESPN writer Jemele Hill. Hill, like others, found his most recent cover on Vogue magazine to be stereotypical. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's the one to the left, and it's of James and supermodel Gisele Bundchen. The goal of Vogue in having James, the FIRST black man to grace the cover, was to show the contrast between super-athletes and super-models. Some people, however, had contrary feelings to the resulting visual image. Below is what Hill from ESPN.com had to say:

"Now, maybe the point was to show the contrast between brawn and beauty, masculinity versus femininity, strength versus grace. But Vogue's quest to highlight the differences between superstar athletes and supermodels only successfully reinforces the animalistic stereotypes frequently associated with black athletes. A black athlete being reduced to a savage is, sadly, nothing new. But this cover gave you the double-bonus of having LeBron and Gisele strike poses that others in the blogosphere have noted draw a striking resemblance to the racially charged image of King Kong enveloping his very fair-skinned lady love interest."

Laila Ali Says Good-Bye to Boxing- Check Out What Her Next Move Is

Laila Ali is retiring her gloves and trading them in for a reality show- and NO we're not talking about a second stint on Dancing With Stars. After almost winning the dance competition, Ali has become a regular in the homes of America. From being on the CBS Morning Show to co-hosting American Gladiator, she has found a new passion in being on the big screen. Her new show, however, is one with a deeper purpose. She is currently working on a new Nickelodeon show called "The N's Student Body." This show follows a group of teens who are changing their lives by dieting, exercising, volunteering, and improving their academics.

When speaking with VOA News, Ali explained that the teens really look up to her. "Every time I make an appearance, I'm always going to be a positive person, just a role model. I've been doing that since I first became a public person."

And when asked the GOLDEN question of will she return to the ring she replied: "I got bored with boxing. You can't fight forever. You get older... I want to do other things."

~It's good that the "other things" she's doing includes helping today's youth because that is one hard fight to take on- Great job Ms. Laila~

Movie Revue- "Meet the Browns"

On a scale of 1-10 I would give it an 8.5. The acting from the actors who had major movie experience was GREAT…but those who were new or getting warmed up to the big screen were just okay. The plot was good; there were some moments where I knew what would occur next and others where I was left guessing. My favorite character was Leroy Brown (the one who is always dressed SUPER tacky on Tyler Perry movies) he was hilarious. His character alone kept me laughing throughout the entire movie. I don’t want to spoil it for those of you who haven’t seen it so I will stop there…go and check it out for yourself, I feel like I got my money’s worth hopefully you will feel the same.

Also- If you are a HUGE Madea fan and only go to see her (or should I say him-IDK)…this might not be your Tyler Perry pick. She shows up but very briefly. But if it’s comedy that you’re looking for don’t worry LEROY BROWN takes care of that.

T.I. Gets an Easter Break

Atlanta rapper T.I. is currently under house arrest while he awaits his trial on weapons charges. BUT he received good news from a Federal Magistrate Judge on Thursday…he’s getting an Easter Break. According to PEOPLE the Judge has given him permission to go to church on Sunday. T.I. can attend Easter services from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

Is There Racism in Women's Tennis- Mr. Williams Speaks Out

In a recent interview in Bangladore, India Venus and Serena’s father spoke about modern day racism in tennis. He told the Deccan Herald that he doesn’t “think Venus or Serena [were] ever accepted by tennis [and] they never will be.” While he attributed some of the unfairness to the Women’s Tennis Association his main focus seemed to be on the media. He believes the media treats his daughters unfairly and that it was “the worst media job that they have done on any human being in the world…if he were Venus or Serena he would have quit playing.” Larry Scott, the head of the Women’s Tennis Association denies Mr. Williams statements…

"(From) a relationship standpoint I am a single guy, I am definitely single. I've been on my website and seeing how girls have been threatening me and saying I'm a liar and I'm like it's not even that... I have a close friend but it’s not like a relationship, I’m not trying to settle down, I’m only 18 so I’m just trying to live my life and have fun."

From being able to see her rib cage to her stringy unkept hair, Winehouse is a walking sculpture of what you don't want to look like. What's even worse is the campaign that she posed naked for was a breast cancer awarness campaign. If Amy Winehouse were to pose naked for anything it should have been a campaign that highlights the affects of smoking that pipe, snorting vodka flambes, and injecting heroine through your toes. I guess some organizations will take whatever celebrity they can get, even if they are a CRACKHEAD.

In the April edition of Allure, Mariah Carey talks about her body, her career, and living like Mary Poppins. Yup...you read it right. Carey proclaims that she is the modern day Poppins. She admits that she enjoys dressing sexy...BUT according to Carey that's as far as it goes-when it comes to her actions she claims she's as prude as Poppins! Like Poppins, she has never had a one-night stand and she feels that she's an example of what a polished woman should be.

Hmmmmmmm..... I'm not sure how I feel about that Mariah. Were you just telling Allure what you thought they wanted to hear? Brittney's Daddy is The New Repo Man in Her Life

Brittney's daddy may as well be referred to as the repo man. PEOPLE.com recently reported that on Monday a court granted her father the power to "sell or dispose of" an undisclosed number of her seven cars. Apparently, the cost of maintaining a fleet of vehicles was too expensive for her dad. By selling some of her cars it will bring down the expense of keeping up the estate. Of her seven cars she owns two white Mercedes (a SL65 and a CLK350), a white Mini Cooper convertible, and a black Audi. One of the court's spokesmen also clarified that Brittney's weekly allowance of $1500 "is not her only source of (personal) income." Her father and a lawyer will continue to control her affairs until the July 31st hearing. Poor Brittney...she sure is reverting back to her teenage days (Daddy's controlling the whips and she's on an allowance.) Must be hard for the pop-star.

Allen Iverson returns to Philly!

Allen Iverson planted a kiss on the 76ers logo at midcourt and blew imaginary ones to the fans. He showed his appreciation to his fans during his first game back in Philadelphia since he was traded to the Nuggets in December 2006. On his sneakers he had "THZPHILA." The fans responded with their own tributes. From fans being adorned in Sixers and Nuggets jerseys to holding up signs of their appreciation- the crowd showed they still love A.I. While some athletes say they don't worry about what the fans think of them, Iverson does: "I don't think there's nobody that plays this sport that don't care about what the fans think of them and think of what they gave on the basketball court."

A.I's high was brought to a bitter-sweet low when the Sixers won the game (115-113). According to Iverson, "Everything was perfect but one thing, and that was not winning the game."

With "Meet the Brown's" debuting tomorrow one would think Tyler Perry would be estactic. Sorry America...HE ISN'T. But can we blame him? NO!!!!!!!!!!! In a recent interview with New York Daily News, he dished about how he feels he's overlooked by the "mainstream" media. Instead of the mainstream embracing his creative works- that explore issues that families of ALL races deal with- they have cast his work to the side. He has made it clear that he is not a one-hit wonder with the production of three great movies "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," "Madeas Family Reunion" and "Why Did I Get Married." Although he has made a financial mark in the theatre industry, he believes "that there's not the same excitement about his films as there would be with someone else." TYLER...we agree!!! Apparently Dijmon has a new Calvin Klein underwear billboard in Hong Kong. "He's really big," was one of the many phrases Kimora used to describe this most recent work of art. She's not the only person admitting to his size, Calvin Klein representatives claim that his ad is the largest in Asia. You would think that with her recent break up with mogul Russell Simmons she would still be in denial, but she's far from that. Falcons to trade Hall for Raiders' second-round pick in '08 draft

The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders' second-round pick in the 2008 draft. Hall's contract is 7 years worth $70 million dollars.

Nahla Ariela Aubry: Halle's BABY GIRL!!!!!

On Tuesday, Halle Berry revealed the name of her 7 pound, 4 ounce baby girl to Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell. They named her Nahla Ariela Aubry. For it to be such a beautiful name, it’s hard to believe that they picked out the name just before they went to the hospital. According to Berry, it was hard to come up with a “name fot the most important person in their life.” The name does suit the newborn very well. Her middle name means Lioness of God. And she sure is being treated like a member of the royal family. Thus far, it has been reported that she has over $60,000 worth of nursery items. With such a large number they can’t even put all of them in one house, they’ve had to spread her nursery over three homes. Berry and her boo aren’t the only ones pampering young Nahla Ariela with expensive gifts, apparently stars such as Bruce Willis are also adorning her with expensive gifts from Petit Tressor’s, a chic West Hollywood store.

Not only will Nahla Ariela be the envy of all of her childhood girlfriends because her mother is THE Halle Berry, if she does in fact learn her fathers native tongue (French) she will definitely steal all the young boys hearts too. Aubry’s sister recently told People.com that she’s “glad the little one will speak French too.” Watch out America… she’s going to be a force to reckon with!!!
